Recruitment interview: Candidates, get ready for!

At the very beginning of 2013, the specialist recruitment firm Robert Half recalls the main statistical data relating to job interviews, disclosed during the 4th quarter of 2012. The main conclusions of this survey should enable candidates to be ready for the very first interviews in 2013!

Tip n°1: Be on time!

12% of HR managers do not tolerate...any delay.

Punctuality is a must for this crucial appointment that is an interview with a recruiter. Please note that 12% of French Human Resources Directors and Managers (HRD) do not tolerate...any delay!

Tip n°2: Be concise!

Nearly 1/3 of the HR managers pass the first interview in less than 30 minutes...

If 9% of these HRDs need more than an hour for this first meeting, almost a third devote more than 30 minutes to it... Not surprisingly, more than half (62.5%) of the French HRDs questioned by Robert Half, give between 30 and 60 minutes to the candidates they meet for the first time.

B°3 Tip: Get ready!

While more than 15% of the HR managers do not check the level of English, 2/3 test it at the 1st interview/RV...

When asked when they test the language level of the candidates they have selected, 15.5% of the HRDs bet on confidence and do not test their level of English, whereas 14% of them carry out this test at the end of the recruitment process.

Tip n°4: Score fast ‘l'essai'!

55% of HR managers decide in 1 to 2 interviews...while nearly 20% need at least 4 interviews!

The various results presented above come from the survey conducted in July 2012 among 200 French Directors/Human Resources Managers (representative sample of companies).
